Through the heart of the City

Some weeks ago I went to Borough Market (it appears as well in my previous post about London in the movies).

It´s a huge food market where you can taste meals from all over the world.

To get to the market we took a bus because I like it better that the tube.

You can see the city and it helps you to orientate yourself and discover beautiful corners of London.

We passed Trafalgar Square and its lions, the Fleet Street (of the demon barber) full of old taverns and Saint Paul´s Cathedral.

We crossed the London Bridge and got there. 

The market it´s surrounded by and ancient church and the Shard building (weird mix or arquitecture).

To the way home we made another turistic tour as well, passing by the Parlament, Wesmister Abbey and Marble Arch.

Hace unas semanas estuve en el Mercado de Borough (que aparece también en el post sobre Londres en las películas).

Es un mercado de comida enorme donde puedes probar platos de todo el mundo.

Para llegar al mercado cogimos un bus ya que lo prefiero antes que el metro. Desde el bus puedes ver la ciudad y te ayuda a orientarte en ella y descubrir rincones con encanto.

Pasamos por Trafalgar Square y sus leones, la Calle Fleet (del barbero demoníaco) con sus tavernas antiguas y la catedral de Saint Paul´s.

Cruzamos el London Bridge y llegamos. 

El mercado está rodeado por una iglesia antigua y el edificio Shard (una extraña mexcla de arquitecturas).

De camino a casa hicimos otro tour turístico pasando por el Parlamento, la abadía de Wesmister y Marble Arch.

L'ange mélancolique

"La tristesse éternelle d'un ange sur la terre
De grandes fontaines de larmes coulant à l'infini
Les yeux noirs de cet être, fixant la pierre
Tombée d'une sculpture durant la nuit

L'enfer a doucement touché notre sol
Mais de la mort il est si las
Que même le paradis le désole
Mourir pour cet empire de glace 

De roses est recouvert le tombeau
Que foulera l'ange mélancolique
Sa main encore posée sur le berceau
De sa triste sculpture idyllique"

A tour of Highgate in pictures,

one of the most famous cementeries in London.

Here rest remarcable people as George Michael or Karl Marx.

The ivy and undergrowth have semi buried the place which make it

one of the most charming and misterious in the city.  

Artists as the illustrator Victoria Frances or the music band Dark Sanctuary (song add at the begining of the post) have found this graveyard as inspiration for their work.

Un recorrido en imágenes por Highgate,

uno de los cementerios más célebres de Londres. 

Aquí se encuentran celebridades como George 

Michael o Karl Marx. 

La hiedra y la maleza han semi sepultado todo el 

lugar y por ello lo hacen uno de los lugares con mas encanto 

y misterio de la ciudad.

Artistas como la ilustradora Victoria Frances o el grupo de 

música Dark Sanctuary (la canción que he añadido al comienzo)

 han encontrado el lugar como inspiración para sus obras.

Espero que disfruten las imágenes tanto como yo lo he hecho realizándolas,
