Dalgona Coffee all the way

Iced coffee is a perfect refreshment for Summer but few weeks ago I discovered something even better: Dalgona Coffee. This is a cold coffee with a creamy texture. It´s super easy to make and really good to enjoy. Here I leave you the recipe:

- 2 table spoons of powder coffee (it could be decaf)

- 1 table spoon of granulated sugar (better brown sugar)

- 1 table spoon of boiling water

Mix everything with metal rods (don´t use a fork) for about 10 minutes till it looks creamy and light brown.

Add milk and ice to your glass and top it with the coffee cream. Voila! There you have your very first Dalgona Coffee. Pd.: I love topping it with some cinnamon or cocoa powder for extra sweetness.

Hope you´ve enjoyed it!

Yankee Candles for Summer Season

The Summer Season is just around the corner and what a better way to feel the spirit of the season than adding some summery decorations to your home. Candles and flowers, like these joyful daisies, are my favourites.

I´ve always liked a scented candle that gives you that cozy feeling. Without exception the best ones are Yankee Candles, if you haven´t heard of them I assure you these candles are the greatest, their scents are unique and very intense. I love that the variety is such that you can find them for any season and also, for any mood.

For example, you can get your "Home sweet home" candle for a movie night in or a "Storm Watch" candle for those who like the smell of rain. They are original so you won´t get bored trying them. If you are in a cheerful mood you can add some of the ones I´m sharing here.

The first one is "Garden Sweet Pea", it has the smell of this flower but also you can feel like you are in the middle of a garden, on a summer day.

The second one is "Cherry Blossom", it has a floral scent but sweeter than the other one, at the end of this scent you can smell cherries.

Last but not least is the "Vanilla Cupcake", for anyone who loves delicate and sweet scents this is the candle for you. And, if you are craving for sweets, be careful not to have it close.

The moments I love to use them are first, when I´m studying, writing or working from my little office or when I´m back from the beach, after a long day outdoors, when I want to relax with my summer blanket in front of a movie.

My candles are from a local store called Aromas de Mae, which I´m linking here for my local readers, but you can also get them directly from the Yankee Candle website and Yankee Candle Spain . The dress I´m wearing is vintage, so I´m sorry I can´t link it.

I hope you have a good day and let me know if you get or already have any of these candles!

Curl your Hair Without Heat

For today´s shooting I´ve used a simple method to curl my hair. It´s a non-heat way to create nice curls without damaging it and especially your trims.
I´ve been using it since I was twelve, when I didn´t own a hair curler and some pieces of fabric were super easy to get.
It is simple and easy, and the effect depends a bit on your hair texture. For example, for mine which is very fine, I just have to wear it for an hour to see the effect. But for this tutorial I´ve worn it longer.

Here I leave you the steps:

  1.  Get a lock of hair, not too thick or it won´t curl
  2. Spray water over it so it gets a bit wet to help the process
  3. Roll it in a lace or a piece of fabric (like the one in the picture)
  4. Leave it like that from 2-3 hours (I waited 3 hours this time). The shape of your curls will depend on the time you leave the laces rolled.

If you try this at home don´t hesitate in letting me know and comment here or in my Instagram
I´d love to see how it looks!

Thanks for reading and have a nice day!

Healthy Pancakes

Hello everyone! Today I´m sharing with you a super easy healthy pancake recipe.
If you are craving for some weekend pancakes but you also don´t want too much sugar this is the perfect treat for you.

Also, you will just need two really simple ingredients:

- 2 eggs
- 1 banana

It´s this easy! I recommend you to use a blender instead of doing it manually just because it makes the mixture more uniform to get perfect pancakes.
The taste is so good and you can add some maple syrup, chocolate or berries to make it sweeter.
I´ve topped mine with maple syrup and fresh strawberries (we´re growing them at home!). Also mine are minipancakes just because I love to do many of them like you see in the picture. If you like to do more (like for two people) you just have to double the ingredients.

So please share all your thoughts through this blog, or Instagram, or Pinterest or in my YouTube channel, and if you make this recipe tag me if you like! I´d love to see yours.

Wish you a Happy Friday and a good weekend!

V I K I N G style

So I´ve recently finished watching Vikings, which is an incredibly well-produced series for those who don´t know (totally recommended!). My favourite character is Lagertha and I am absolutely amazed by her hairstyles.

I got inspired by her hairdos (the clip in the picture it´s H&M´s, linked a similar one)  and made up one which you can actually wear to work or to a dinner.
Maybe we can´t say the same about the makeup (shadow palette it´s Druni´s), which was also inspired by this Viking woman. Smokey eyes, cat eye shadows , always flattering to wear.

Hope you enjoy the pictures and don´t be hard on me, I´m not a professional! Neither with the make-up nor with the hairdressing. But I had tons of fun doing this, especially watching Kev´s (my partner) face when I asked him to help me with the shooting and saw me wearing all this.

Have a nice day

Classic American Apple Pie

If you are looking for a plan this weekend and it´s rainy or you´re still staying home for the quarantine, I leave you here a great recipe to try: a classic America Apple Pie.
You only need a few ingredients that you probably have at home and a positive attitude to get your hands dirty.
I always enjoy kneading the dough, it´s a bit silly to say but it actually reminds me of the Disney film Snowhite, where see bakes while singing, and cuts the dough in a really pleasant way.
I also quite enjoy topping the filling with some crafty leaves and braids (as you can see in the picture). It´s the part of the process where you can try your creativiy.

I leave you here a video where you´ll see all the procedure. If you didn´t follow me on YouTube you can do it now and share your thougts about my videos.

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a good weekend.

Analyzing Our Teenage Fiction : 3 sagas and their movies

(a gothic, a little prep, a little prer-raphaelite, not very punky, teenage me)

So here is a throwback to my teenagehood, and probably to yours as well if you are ´90/´00s kid.

Today I´m talking about popular young adult fiction from the 00´s. From 2005 to 2008 Vampire Fiction got so popular due to the Twilight Saga. Since then, other novels with the same topic were released and soon they started with adaptations for the big screen.

Here I´m sharing the top 3 book sagas that hooked an entire generation of teens.
They soon turned into series and movies to trapped the non-readers too.

And why was this topic so fascinating? The answer is quite simple, the girl was normally a student or a young girl, so every teen girl could relate to her, and hi was a sexy and mysterious guy who was the perfect boyfriend. Also the three sagas I´m sharing here have a love triangle, I guess reading that can hook as well.

So the main argument for these novels is quite simple, and now we can all understand why our teen (13,14,15,16, 17 years old) selves were so obsessed with them.

Now, apart from that, what do you feel rewatching the movies and series nowadays? Does it change for you? In my opinion, there are quite many things that have changed and, of course, after 10 years, my point of view is totally different. Anyway, I still can get what made them so appealing to read and watch.

So let´s start:

TRUE BLOOD

This fiction tells the story of Sookie, a cute waitress living in a small town (oh, because the action always happens in small towns) who knows a guys which happens to be something more. No spoilers, thought I hope you are reading this having watched/read it a long time ago! If not, you have to do it cause this is everthing but a teenager story. It won´t disappoint you.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES

A girl with a sad and dark past meets a boy which is good and kind and then his evil but hot brother get in the way. As I said, no spoilers, if you watched or read this when you were 15 years old you can maybe enjoy it now again. For me, the plot it´s quite repetitive in all the seasons but you have to admit this: Ian Somerhalder makes it worth watching.

TWILIGHT SAGA

So what happens with this saga is the same as it happens with pineaple in the pizza. You whether love it or absolutely hate it. The books, if you´ve read them, they´re written in a way that is very nice and easy to read, plus intriguing. The story is okay, a new girl in town meets mysterious boy and then, again, someone gets in the way. However, in these books and movies the story really changes from when you read it back in highschool to reread it or rewatch it now.
We can see some bad signs in our main male character: he is an obsessive, freak controller and, Robert Pattison forgives me, but his character is also a bit of a pycho.
Even though, I like to rewatch the saga every now and then because it´s like comfort food, easy and comfy, and makes you feel a bit nostalgic about your teenagehood.

Once again, I hope you enjoy reading me and don´t hesitate on commenting, I´d loved to hear your thoughts.
